Aves Rex

Aves Rex, meaning "Bird King" is a large predatory bird that evolved soon after the continent Antarctica had warmed up into a much more suitable habitats. Since there aren't any large predators on the mainland, the ancestors of Aves Rex took advantage of this and evolved into the top predator of Antarctica.

Standing about as tall as a horse, the Aves Rex towers over many of its prey, which usually consists of the future herbivores. This giant bird resembled a more heavy set version of the terror birds that evolved before the ice age, weighing in at over 300 pounds. It hunts its prey by a method of mock-charging, running in at a group to expose the slowest and weakest. It's long legs are built for long strides when running, and it's large beak is string enough to crush bone.
